Who they are

A family-owned transportable home builder with a single depot at 97 Old Toorbul Point Road, Caboolture, north of Brisbane. They cite more than 100 years of combined team experience, and list Walker Engineering, Queensland House Removers, Project BA, HIA and Master Builders Queensland as partners.

The company behind the brand is Queensland Country Cabins Pty Ltd (ABN 34 658 792 477), ABN active from 14 April 2022, which registered the Wright Choice Homes business name on 18 July 2022. The ABN on their website matches it. They describe themselves as a CommBank assessed manufacturer, which they say lets eligible buyers draw up to 80% of the contract price during the off-site build.

What they make

Homes built whole at the depot and delivered as one unit, from a 45 m² one-bedroom to a 123 m² four-bedroom. Their About page says homes can be customised up to 150 m². Sizes below are from each design page.

How they build

  • Built entirely at the Caboolture depot, then transported as one complete building.
  • Delivered on hydraulic house trailers, which they say often avoids crane hire.
  • Installed on galvanised 100 x 100 RHS steel posts, up to 900 mm finished floor height, on 900 mm deep x 450 mm concrete footings.
  • Engineer-designed and certified, built as a Class 1a dwelling to the National Construction Code.
  • Energy: described as energy-efficient design; no star rating is stated.
  • Build time at the depot: 14 to 16 weeks.
  • Frame, cladding, roof and floor materials are not published on their site; ask for the inclusions brochure, which each design page offers as a download.

Price

Wright Choice prices on request; no home prices are published. They say each quote depends on design, customisation, site access, site preparation and inclusions. The price covers the complete build, transport as a full building, and basic installation. Each design page publishes approximate costs for what sits outside it:

Building approval: architectural, engineering, private certifier, soil tests$10,000 to $14,000
Plumbing with sewer and town waterAbout $6,000

Where they deliver

Standard delivery is within about 100 km of Caboolture. They deliver across Queensland at extra cost, name Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Gympie and Cairns as regular delivery areas, and have location pages for Bundaberg and the Gold Coast.

Warranty and licence

The design pages state a 6-year and 6-month structural warranty and QBCC insurance on all work. Their home page says full terms are discussed at consultation and documents provided at handover.

Queensland Country Cabins Pty Ltd holds QBCC licence 15339907, Builder Low Rise, active, financial category 2, with no condition recorded (register searched 14 October 2026). The register lists its address at 85 Old Toorbul Point Road, Caboolture. Contracts should name that company.

Getting one into the ground in Queensland

Wright Choice delivers and stumps the home. The approval and the connections are yours to arrange, so these steps are the ones to plan:

  1. Block check. Confirm the lot size, zoning, overlays (flood, bushfire, character), easements and sewer position before you sign for a home. This decides where the home can sit and what approvals you need.
  2. Approval. A secondary dwelling needs building approval from a private certifier, and some blocks also need council planning approval. Allow for a soil test, engineering and an energy report.
  3. Footings. Piers or a slab designed by an engineer for your soil class and wind region, set out by a surveyor, and inspected before the home lands.
  4. Transport and access. The truck needs a clear route to the site, and either a crane pad with room to swing or a level run for a trailer. Overhead power, trees and side setbacks are the usual problems.
  5. Connections. A licensed plumber and electrician connect sewer, water, stormwater and power. Long runs, pump stations and meter upgrades cost more.
  6. Final inspection. The certifier signs off once the home is fixed down, connected and compliant, and issues the final certificate.
  7. Home warranty. In Queensland, residential building work over $3,300 needs a QBCC licensed contractor, and the licensed contractor takes out QBCC home warranty insurance for insurable residential work. Know which company holds it for each part of the job.

In Moreton Bay, check the minimum lot size for a secondary dwelling before anything else.

Need an installer?Wright Choice Homes delivers and installs its own homes within 100 km of Caboolture. The site work they leave to the owner, such as site preparation and service connections, is work Big Small Haus can take on under QBCC licence 15506005, if you ask us to. We can also do a block check before you buy. We're not their appointed installer, so check their own terms first.

Questions to ask them

  • What's the price of my chosen design, delivered and stumped on my block?
  • What frame, cladding, roof and window specs come standard? Can I see the inclusions brochure?
  • Is a crane ever needed on my site, and who pays if it is?
  • What does delivery cost beyond 100 km from Caboolture?
  • Does the 900 mm maximum floor height suit my slope, and what happens if I need more?
  • Which consultants do you refer for approvals, and what do they charge?
  • Which company holds the QBCC home warranty insurance, and for what work?
  • What does the 6-year 6-month structural warranty cover, in writing?
  • What's the payment schedule, and how does the CommBank 80% draw work?
  • Can I inspect a home under construction at the depot?

Who they suit

North Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast buyers who want a home built whole in a depot nearby, delivered in one piece on a trailer and stumped in place, with published estimates for the approvals and connections they'll pay on top. The small range, from the 45 m² Bribie to the 60 m² Fraser, suits a backyard granny flat; the larger homes suit acreage and rural lots.
